SEA FLOWERS [FIORI DI MARE]
The SEA FLOWER [FIORI DI MARE] project lives exclusively from the stranded stuff elements that the Tyrrhenian Sea in southern Italy has thrown onto the beach of Sapri. Since 2004 Vincenzo Mastrangelo has been working with the elements stranded ashore, such as plastic, bones, rubber, etc. He processes the found objects directly on the beach into objects or sculptures, takes photos of them and then leaves them in place. He then processes the photographs digitally on the computer the same day. Each object can be viewed on the beach of Sapri until the sea devours it again. The strong colors reflect the almost bright sun in the south of Campania, the dark colors symbolize the magic hours of the night.
